Oklahoma Wine Distributors

At Downward Dog Wine, our unique taste was carefully selected. After a yearlong search for the best vineyard to plant grapes and begin harvesting, owner Betsy Hendershot found one that shared her vision. Napa Valley wines and even Chilean and Australian wines just didn’t have the exact taste she was looking for, but the Columbia Valley of Washington did.

Now, Downward Dog Wine is transported from the biggest wine region in the nation to several cities in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri. Thanks to Oklahoma wine distributors, you can enjoy high-quality boxed wine in over 40 areas in the state. Here are some quick facts about the valley that is nearly 2,000 miles away from Oklahoma.

The Columbia Valley AVA

  1. The Columbia Valley is located on the eastern side of Washington (and a small part of Oregon), which receives about 300 days of sunshine a year. This creates some of the boldest, most fruit-forward red wines around. For context, the Napa Valley receives about 260 days of sunshine per year.
  2. Washington often enjoys a long and consistent growing season, furthering those bold flavors!
  3. The valley was established in 1984.
  4. The Columbia Valley is a massive region. It’s a cross border AVA (American Viticultural Area), containing 12 additional AVAs and many other well-known valleys in its 11.3 million acres. 56,190 of these acres are vineyards.
  5. The valley averages about six to eight inches of rainfall every year. That’s about as dry as the Gobi Desert.
  6. The soil is mostly loess: wind-blown silt and sand soils created by the Missoula Floods. This type of soil produces wines with increased aromatics.

We are happy that Oklahoma wine distributors have given residents the chance to experience the delicious products from the beautiful Columbia Valley. Find where else you can buy Downward Dog Wine and try it for yourself today!
